Valentines Morning breakfast I make for Tom Tom...so creative I am!

I totally made this! Impressed...haha!

I made these costumes for poker night as well. We thought it would be fun to have a themed night. All costume wearers got an extra 100 chip!

Troy (holding Lucy) had a shirt made by his daughter...saints heart. I was a poker conversation heart, Tom was the kissing booth, and Trey was "Love is in the air" His not card said love and it was floating mid-air...so creative!

Trooper wanted to wear Tom's kissing booth costume...He was hoping Daisy Mae and Lucy would come with a quarter.

Ok, so if you read my blog you already know Trooper had to have stitches. Well, on Sunday he decided to lick and scratch until 2 came out. We really didn't think he could get to them...but as the vet said, when there is a will, there is a way. So on Monday I took him back to the vet to have them re-stitched but the vet said it would be ok bc the ends were still in well. However, she wanted him to wear a bite-not collar to keep him from opening it anymore. I busted out laughing when he came out, he looked like he had been in a car wreck and had a broken neck. Poor guy, he can't hardly move with it on. We try to let him be free from the collar most of the time at home and we just watch him extra cautiously. Yesterday Trooper was scheduled to have his teeth cleaned at the vet in Homewood. This is a big deal because he has to be put under anesthestia (sp?). So, the night before he could not have any food or water after midnight. We took the whole pack up to the church on Thursday night to have a good play time since we knew Trooper wouldn't get to exercise again until Saturday. Tom and I ran around the field a little while the dogs chased eachother. They ran and played more than normal. We left and came home, fed the dogs dinner, and they headed to bed. Right before Tom and I went to bed Tom noticed blood on our carpet in our bedroom. I checked all the dogs paws to see if one of them had cut their foot playing. I found nothing and figured it was no big deal. So, Friday morning I got ready and Trooper and I headed out the door for the vet. After I dropped him off I had to substitute at Spain Park for the last half of the day. While teaching I got a phone call from the vet...which alarmed me a little since I wasn't expecting to hear from them until Trooper was finished. The vet said they were weighing Trooper and getting him prepped and found a lasseration (sp?) on his left shoulder and it would need stitches. What?? I felt like such a bad mother! He also informed me of the extra cost and needed permission before sewing the wound. Of course I told him to go ahead and take care of my sweet Troop dog. I called Tom and we figured that Trooper cut himeself jumping in from the side of the truck. We try to get him to get in from the back bc their are sharp corners on the sides...oh well. I told Tom if Trooper was a child they would have called DHR on us. Good news is Trooper's teeth are clean, his breath is better, and his wound is healing and stitches come out in 10 days. Do you know anyone needing a home in the Leeds area? Our house is on the market in Southern Trace. Where are we moving?? We don't know. We want to have more land and a 3 car garage or basement. ( I would like my SUV to actually fit in the garage!) It is a 4 Bed/2.5 Bath with master bedroom on the main. Master bathroom is large and has double vanity, jetted tub and sep shower. All bedrooms are huge and have walk-in closets. Hardwoods throughout most of the main level. Bathrooms and laundry room tiled. Keeping room off of the kitchen with double sided gas fireplace. Bonus room in one of the upstairs bedrooms and another bonus/tech room at top of the stairs. Blinds throughout the house. Let us know if you know anyone who might be interested!

Let me start by saying this is not what it appears! Lucy chases Zos everywhere and barks at his feet. While she was doing this recently Zos decided he had to potty. She continued to bark so I took a picture thinking it was funny and I would show Tom when we got home. Well, this is how the picture turned out. Is there a contest I could win somewhere with this?

Well, it has been a very long time since I have posted anything on our blog. Tom and I are taking part in 21 days of prayer and fasting with our church that started this past Sunday and ends Jan. 31. Part of my fast has been to give up facebook for a while....if you know much about me you will know this is a hard thing for me to do. Tom is thrilled, he hates my facebook time/addiction (which ever you would like to call it). We are also praying a believing for something big to happen for us in 2010.

As far as a tribute to 2009, here are a few wonderful things that we experience in the past year.

1. We embarked on our first year of marriage

2. We traveled to many places such as Massachusetts, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Georgia, and Mexico.

3. I got a new car.

4. We spent the summer partially apart with me working at camp.

7. Went hunting a few times.

8. Found out that Flemings is one of our favorite places to eat for special occasions and have been there a few times this year.

9. Celebrated with many friends when they had babies...all who are precious.

10. We both gained a little (really a lot) of weight....we are working on fixing this!

11. I began major couponing and have saved us a ton of money on groceries....all this for 5$

12. We attended our first marriage conference.

13. We played in the snow before church on March 1.

14. We rescued and found a great home for this Pit Bull that we found on the side of the road carrying a huge chain.

15. We played a lot of games...not too much of Monopoly board game bc Tom cheats way too much...Trooper knows it too.

16. We played with our wonderful dogs!

17. We celebrated our first anniversary together as husband and wife!

Life has been great for us this past year and we know 2010 will be even better. We started it off by adding this precious dog to our family!

This weekend my step-brother Bo came to stay with Tom and me for a little fun. He came on Friday and we had dinner at Ruby Tuesdays, watching Funny Farm, and got up and went to Six-Flags on Saturday. It was very hot and sticky, but we had a great time. The boys annoyed me all day, but I think that is what they are made for. ha! Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

Hi my blogging friends. It has been a long time since my last post. I blogged before I left for camp and then forgot all about it. I am at Camp Mac...my 13th summer here among the pines. I went to Wal Mart in Oxford tonight and a man asked me if this was my first summer working here....when I told him this was my 13th summer he was shocked! I laughed! Anyway, Tom and I are doing well with me working here. He sacrafices most weekends to be here with me Friday through Sunday...as do Trooper and Zos. I think the dogs love it because of the time they get to spend at the lake! Here are some pictures from camp so far!

Tom and I went to Destin last weekend with his parents, Tyler, and Natalie. We had a great time. I got cooked on day 1 at the beach while the boys played golf. We went to baytown and to Red Bar while we were there. We had a great time...here are a few pictures.

This weekend was quite busy for us. We spent most of the day Saturday at Camp for the first alumni reunion. It was fun, not the best weather, but nice to see friends. Sunday we kept the kids at church and then headed to Barber Motor Sports for the AMA races. Well, it was an eventful event! The weather was crazy...tornados, massive winds, and terrible rains. Tom and I tried to wait it out and ended up leaving after we were totally drenched from the downpour. We did see some really awesome lightning...I was hoping to see a tornado though. Oh well.

We have had a lot going on the past few weeks and I have managed to forget about blogging. So, here are a few fun pictures/videos from last weekend. I spent Saturday morning with my friend Lea who was in town from Columbus. Tom and I also went to a landscaping class in our neighborhood...where I won a 50$ Visa gift card. We bought a few knock out bushes and got those planted. Trooper, Zos, and Daisy Mae all got a bath and their nails done. Saturday evening we went to Trey and Jenny's to play a little poker. Tom and I spent 5 days in Ellijay, GA with our dogs for spring break. We had a private cabin in the mountains and enjoyed peace and quiet. We spent time playing cards, hiking, cooking, building fires, and watching movies. The dogs had quite a time....they have pretty much slept since we got home. They were DOG TIRED!

I thought that I would be posting only about our marriage retreat from the weekend, but the weather seems to be very important too.

The marriage retreat was awesome, Tom and I learned a great deal and have already started using some of the thing we learned. I am thankful that we are both so excited about having a great marriage.

As far as the weather goes....it snowed here in Birmingham more than it has in a few years. I woke up at 6:30 to Daisy Mae's paws in the face...which she never does and is not allowed to do. I assumed she must have really had to go to the bathroom but I think she just knew there was snow on the ground. I made Tom wake up and have breakfast, coffee, and go play! We took the dogs up the street to the field to run and play as the snow was pouring down. They had a great time. Check out the video! Tom and I had to keep the 3 year olds at church at 9:30 so we had to get ready and head out. We came home from church around 1:00 and made a fabulous snowman....enjoy the pictures!

There has not been much going on in the Drolet family this week. Tom and I have both been very busy this week with work, small groups, church, cars, etc! We are excited about this weekend. We will be attending the Church of the Highlands Marriage Retreat Friday night and all day Saturday. According to Pastor Chris the speaker is awesome and very funny. I hope to bring back some good info to share with the blogging world next week.

Tom loves his motorcycle! He has not had a good ride on it since we got married in November. He loves to have me ride with him, but it is not my favorite thing to do! However, I rode with him on Sunday afternoon for a couple of hours and enjoyed spending time doing what he loves. The best part of the day was when we got home and he asked me if I wanted to ride the motorcycle to car max and get the car I have been wanting....whoo hoo. I will ride that bike anytime if I get a new car for doing so! Just kidding, but he did make my day! I am lucky to have him as my husband!

This is the sweet dog we rescued from the street in Demopolis on the way home from the farm. Such a sweet Pit Bull dragging a 10 foot chain. He now has a happy home in Birmingham!

Our girl loved Hannah Montana!

As most of you know, I teach 2nd grade at Vestavia Hills Elementary East. I love my job, but in December the children get very excited at hyped up on candy as the break approaches. We are all excited to have 2 weeks off to sleep late and spend time with our families! I am very proud of my students and what we did for our christmas project this year. The students did chores to earn money for us to buy gifts for 2 needy children. We sponsored an 8 year old girl and a 2 month old boy from the Giving Tree at Church of the Highlands. I thought it was a great opportunity to teach my students about the spirit of giving. They exceeded my expectations and raised a little over 200 dollars. We were able to really bless these children with a great Christmas! These are a few pictures of the stuff we bought for them.

Tom and I were blessed to be able to visit his extended family in the New England area this past weekend. It was a fast trip and I enjoyed meeting everyone I had not met before now. However, I never want to live there, it was 12 degrees Saturday night. Also, New Hampshire had one of the worst ice storms they had seen in 30 years, which led to massive power outages all over the area! Can you imagine, no heat and 12 degrees...yuck! Our first Christmas party as Mr. and Mrs. Tom Drolet was a ton of fun...but we missed all of our friends who were attending and working the LIFE retreat at church. Tom and I tied the knot on November 22! We had the most perfect wedding and reception we could have imagined. Thank you to everyone who was there and a part of our special day.
